The short version

  • nwsly delivers five news briefs a day (three national, one local, one state). The free tier is the product.
  • nwsly+ is $100/year and adds source bias ratings + unlimited additional stories. 7-day free trial. Cancel any time in App Store or Google Play settings.
  • The briefs are AI-analyzed + human-reviewed. They're news, not advice — don't make financial, medical, or legal decisions on them.
  • Don't scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell our content.
  • If something goes wrong, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.

1. Acceptance

By using nwsly — the iOS or Android app, the website at nwsly.co, or our newsletter — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Who can use nwsly

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher. If you're using nwsly on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. The service

nwsly delivers five AI-analyzed news briefs every weekday morning — three national stories, one local to the user's city, and one for the user's state. Each brief is generated from articles published by sources we publicly list at /sources and reviewed by a human editor before publication. Methodology is at /methodology.

We make no guarantee that the briefs will appear at exactly 7am, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any specific story will be included on any given day. The free tier guarantees five cards per day on best effort; nwsly+ adds source bias ratings and more cards on demand within reasonable usage limits.

4. nwsly+ subscriptions

5. Content

The briefs nwsly publishes are summaries of public reporting from third-party news sources. We synthesize, paraphrase, and label — we don't redistribute full articles. Original reporting belongs to the source publisher.

Bias and factuality labels are nwsly's editorial judgment based on the methodology at /methodology. Reasonable people may disagree. The labels are opinion, offered transparently.

The briefs are not advice. Do not use them as the sole basis for financial, medical, legal, or any other consequential decision. Read primary sources before acting.

6. What you can and can't do

You may use nwsly to stay informed, for personal or internal-business reading.

You may not:

7. Intellectual property

The nwsly name, wordmark, app icon, and all original site content (excluding the underlying source articles) are owned by nwsly, Inc. and protected by US and international copyright and trademark law.

8. Account and data

nwsly does not require an account to use the free tier. nwsly+ subscriptions are linked to your Apple ID or Google Account. You can delete your usage data at any time by emailing hello@nwsly.co; see the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Termination

You can stop using nwsly any time. We can suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or use it in a way that puts us or other users at risk. We'll give you reasonable notice unless the breach makes that impractical.

10. Disclaimers

nwsly is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the briefs are accurate, complete, or current — though we work hard to make them so.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, nwsly's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold nwsly harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms when the service changes. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email to subscribers. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
